Re: Administrative changes at high school
Dear Queen’s Grant Parents
I am writing to inform you that Mr. Bob Thomas has decided to pursue professional opportunities away from Queen’s Grant and has resigned from his position as principal of our high school. I want to assure everyone that Mr. Thomas leaves us on good terms. We are grateful to him for the work he has done in getting our high school up and running over the last two and a half years, and wish him well in his future endeavors. The school board is devoting the next several months to a thorough and methodical search for a new principal who will embrace the college preparatory mission of our school and who has the necessary skills and experience to lead our school in the next phase of our growth.
In the meantime, our assistant principals, Mrs. Leslie Southerland and Mr. Mark Andreotti will be working closely with Norman George and Philip Adkins of Creative School Development to oversee our day to day operations. While the roles of our two assistant principals will overlap somewhat, Mrs. Southerland will focus primarily on the role of Dean of Academics, and Mr. Andreotti will focus primarily on the role of Dean of Administration. You will be receiving additional communications from them in the future as we further develop our school operation in the coming months.
Our high school is moving solidly in the direction of fulfilling its mission as a quality college preparatory school. Our senior class is well engaged in college applications and scholarship opportunities. The financing and permit approval for our next phase of facilities development are also progressing on schedule. Queen’s Grant Preparatory High School is well on its way toward becoming the premier public high school in our area. Thank you for entrusting us with the education of your students, and for your involvement in creating a high quality prep school.
Sincerely,
Ted Biggers, Chairman
Queen’s Grant Board of Directors
