Dress Code – 2009/2010

In all cases, the Principal is the sole determiner of dress code adherence.  The dress code may be altered on special days as approved by the Principal.  If further clarification of the dress code is needed, please contact the school office for assistance.

Disciplinary Process

As outlined in the Student Code of Conduct, all students are expected to adhere to the dress code.  Failure to adhere to the dress code will result in the disciplinary process as outlined in the parent/student handbook.

Personal Hygiene

Each student is expected to maintain a clean and neat appearance while at school.
Extremes in hairstyles and personal ornamentation are not permitted.  All clothing and shoes must be neat and clean, free of holes, writing and/or stains.

All Students

  • Solid color shirts with collars and sleeves (includes turtlenecks, long or short sleeves, cotton or knit).  All solid colors permitted.  No more than two top buttons may be unbuttoned.
  • Brown, black, navy or burgundy shoes, loafer type or casual dress, with heels no higher than 1 inch.  Shoes must be closed-toed and closed-heeled.  Solid color white, brown, navy or black athletic/tennis shoes are permitted.  Boots are not permitted.  Shoes must be tied at all times.
  • Solid color crew-neck, v-neck sweaters, sweater vests, and cardigans may be worn over collared uniform shirts.  Sweatshirts and fleece jackets/vets ARE permitted inside the building, however, must be solid color and have no logos, except Queen’s Grant logo.  All solid colors permitted.
  • Hats or headscarves of any kind are NOT permitted, unless for religious purposes.
  • Extreme hairstyles are not permitted.  Hair color for boys and girls must be of natural tones.
  • No Extreme makeup
  • Clothing items shall not include logos or writing that exceeds 1”X1”, except for Queen’s Grant logo.
  • Solid color belts in black, navy, or brown and free of ornamentation must be worn with pants/shorts, etc. having belt loops.
  • Solid color white, black, khaki or navy socks are acceptable.
  • No Hoodies
  • No Cargos
  • Cell phones are STRICTLY prohibited on campus.
    • 1st offense: warning and immediate removal of cell phone.  Parent may pick it up at the end of the third day.
    • 2nd offense: 1-day suspension with parent conference prior to return.  Phone will be held at Main Office and may be picked up by parent at the end of the third day.
    • 3rd offense:  3-day suspension with parent conference prior to return.  Phone will be held at Main Office and may be picked up by parent at the end of the suspension period.
    • 4th offense:  10-day suspension with parent conference prior to return.  Phone will be held at Main Office and may be picked up by parent at the end of the suspension period
    • 5th offense:  expulsion

Boys

  • Uniform style, black, navy or khaki pants or shorts; belts must be worn with trousers having belt loops.
  • Shirts must be tucked in at all times.
  • Hairstyles must be “business” conservative with hair being cut above the collar, covering no more than half the ears, and cut above the eyebrows.
  • Earrings and other body piercing ornaments are not permitted.
  • Undershirts must be solid white.
  • No extreme jewelry.  Conservative, simple jewelry is permitted.

Girls

  • Solid color black, navy or khaki pants, shorts, skirts, skorts, capri pants, jumpers; must be no less than two inches above the top of the knee.
  • White or navy tights
  • Pantyhose are permitted
  • No more than two pairs of earrings are permitted.  Only ears may be pierced.
  • Undershirts, camisoles and brassieres must be solid white or skin tone
  • Hairstyles must be conservative.
  • No extreme makeup.  Light makeup is permitted
  • No extreme jewelry.  Conservative, simple jewelry is permitted.
